Just returned from a week in Marfa, Texas with 16+ people working on a design/build project via Camp Design Build Adventure, led by Jack Sanders. The project was called East Side Play, a play area for kids that was donated by Nick Terry and his wife, Maryam Amiryani. Maryam and Nick, both artists, co-founded the Dersu Collective, an artist collective that applies proceeds from art sales to community projects. They funded the materials for the shade structure, as well as supplying creative support (and a fresh fruit break every morning). It was a great week.

Here’s what we designed and built in a matter of a few days! (photo by Taryn Kinney)
